image91.jpg  Day 8 of our trip was our last full day on the ship as well as another Fun Ship day at sea.   This day ended up being the worst weather day of the cruise.  It was windy, cool and the rain was falling from time to time.  I think a number of our group took naps, some played cards and others just relaxed.  There was a disembarkation talk in the theatre, I missed it but others from our group attended.

This day we decided to have lunch in the main dining room, the service as well as the food was excellent.   image92.jpg Nenda from Serbia waited on us and provided some fun on this cloudy day.   As usual the dining room  staff took care of our needs and  made our trip enjoyable.  image93.jpg

image94.jpg  Later in the afternoon the weather was not the greatest, a few sprinkles but it was kind of cool and windy so we found a comfortable location on the promenade deck to use as our base of operations.  It was a great location as it was just outside the casino, not far from the shops and also had a bar in close proximity.  What else could we ask for?

The only thing lacking was the sunshine.  In the last few years of cruises we can’t complain we have only had 3 days of cool or rainy weather out of the 28 days at sea.

We skipped out on to the main dining room and ate dinner at the buffet.  The food was very good and most of the selections available in the dining room menu were presented at the buffet, we dined on prime rib.

We did have some excitement after dinner, the ship came to a dead stop and a US Coast Guard helicopter arrived to pick up a sick passenger.  From what we hear it sounds like a helicopter can actually land on the ship but because of high winds it did not land.  Instead they airlifted the passenger using a basket.  We firefighters and emts were trying our best to get on deck to see the operation but unfortunately all the doors were closed.
