We started our second day in Cocoa Beach looking for breakfast.  The Radisson had a variety of breakfast options in their restaurant including a buffet for $8.95.  A number of us decided to keep it simple and walk across the road to McDonalds.

After breakfast we spent some time sitting by the pool and getting our luggage ready for the ship. This was the first time we used the paper luggage tags that Carnival provided in our ticket books or the ones some of us printed at home on our computers.  We were worried that the tags would not survive the baggage handlers so we used clear shipping tape to laminate and tape them to our luggage handles.  I have to say I was surprised as how well the tags held up.  Embarkation went very smooth.  The Port Canaveral facility is new and seems to flow smoothly.  We had a few first time cruisers in the group and they were at awe over our ship the Glory.  The Glory sitting just across from one of the smaller Disney ships seemed enormous.  We boarded early and our staterooms were not ready for us so we headed to the buffet and enjoyed a quick lunch.  The lines at the buffet were not bad at all but finding a table was tough.  After lunch we made our way to the state rooms and unpacked.  A quick life boat drill and the ship set sail.  We spent some time on the Lido deck, had a few drinks and before we knew it, it was time to get ready for dinner.

As for the new luggage tags, we were pleasantly surprised that most of use had our luggage even before the ship left the dock.  What was upsetting was that some members of our group witnessed some of the luggage being loaded on the ship fall out of the bin that was being moved by a fork truck.  The dock worker tried to use the fork truck to pick up the bag and dropped it again and then proceeded to run it over with the fork truck.  We also had one of our groups bag ripped.  I will be reporting this to Carnival, but more importantly I will be reporting this to the Port Canaveral Port Authority as the baggage handlers are dock workers, not Carnival employees.

Well with that behind us let’s get on to the fun!  W had another surprise was waiting for us when we found our table in the Platinum Dining room.  The waiter from our cruise last year Clive, was on the Glory.  Clive was not our waiter again this year but he was working in the area.  Dinner was good, did take a bit longer than we would have liked but was enjoyable.  Our headed waiter this year is a young lady named Annie.

image00003.jpgAfter diner came the casino where most of us lost our money but we did have a couple of club members who one $250+.  After loosing more than we should have it was of to the show in the lounge.  The show was good but the singers and dancers did the same show   we saw on the Triumph last year.  There was a quick audience participation segment of the show and finally a comedian.  The comedian was good but was having a tough time with the audience.  This is where the night ended.  We turned in early as we would need to wake up early for our short day in Nassau.
