image00001.jpgWell we are in Florida!  It has been a long day, it started with a limo ride to Milwaukee Mitchell International at 5:00 a.m..  Gordy from Diamond Cut Limousines out of New Berlin did a great job of backing that stretch Excursion out of Rich and Julies very long driveway.  Once all were aboard we popped the cork on the champagne and we were off.

Our flight to Orlando was pretty uneventful.  Things did get interesting once we headed to baggage claim.  Shelly’s main suitcase did not show up, so she talked to a few folks and they said they would get it to her, even if it was at one of the ports we were stopping at.

Next was the job of securing ground transportation to Cocoa Beach.  It is amazing the different prices the drivers throw at you trying to get your business.  I ended up calling AAA Access Transport from the list of shuttle service provided at the airport.   As we were leaving I happened to call Chad and they had just landed so we had the driver drive around the airport and we waited for Chad and Brenda.  While waiting for them Sharon called, there just had retrieved their bags so we now had a second van.  While waiting for everyone to load up in the vans, Shelly got a call, they found her suitcase!!  The brought it out to where the vans were.  So we were off again on our way to Cocoa Beach.

We arrived at our hotel by 2:30 an hour later than we had expected so that wasnt too bad.  We stayed at the Radisson at the Port in Cocoa Beach.  Everyone was starving so we headed to the restaurant to eat.  The Radisson has a restaurant called Flamingos.  The service and the food were outstanding.  We had a few drinks at the bar and ended up at Subway for a quick sub later that night.  A few of the group even headed over to Fish Lips Bar and Grill, again the Radisson provided free shuttle service.  We found numerous stores in the area and the Radisson had a free shuttle service.

Within walking distance we found a large gas station that had a large selection of items, there is a Subway next to the hotel, a McDonalds across the street, as well as an Italian restaurant next door.   The Radisson overall was great, Sleep Number beds in the rooms were great. We even had a celebrity among us, the hotel has a convention center and Rudy Giuliani was there for a campaign event.
